Galaxy S26 Edge discontinued due to low demand

Galaxy S26 Edge discontinued after weak sales

The Galaxy S26 Edge discontinued reports coming out of South Korea confirm that Samsung has scrapped the slim “Edge” model before launch, following disappointing sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. According to Korean publication NewsPim, Samsung has already notified internal teams that the Edge lineup will not continue into the S26 generation.

The reason is simple: the Galaxy S25 Edge failed to sell. Despite its ultra-thin profile and premium positioning, it shipped just 1.31 million units, far below the Galaxy S25 (8.28 million), S25+ (5.05 million), and S25 Ultra (12.18 million). Buyers reportedly rejected the compromise-heavy design — especially the smaller battery and lack of a telephoto camera — which made the device feel overpriced compared to thicker, better-equipped flagships.

As a result, Samsung is reverting to its traditional three-model lineup for 2026:

  • Galaxy S26 (expected to be renamed Galaxy S26 Pro)

  • Galaxy S26 Plus

  • Galaxy S26 Ultra

No successor to the S25 Edge is currently planned, and the remaining stock of the S25 Edge will be cleared out before the S26 launch window. The report also notes that while development of a Galaxy S26 Edge was completed internally, Samsung has no plans to release it, at least under the “Edge” branding.

Industry insiders suggest the Edge lineup is unlikely to return, with Samsung shifting focus back toward mainstream flagships with bigger batteries, better camera flexibility, and higher long-term demand. The company appears to have concluded that the thin-and-light experiment simply did not justify its market position.

In short: The Galaxy S26 Edge discontinued status is final — Samsung is phasing out the Edge line after weak S25 Edge sales and returning to the standard three-model flagship strategy.
